I love the BSU because of our great community of folks who care for and support one another despite how crazy busy everyone gets throughout the year. When I had car troubles, I was confident that someone at the BSU would be able and willing to help me get to and from the mechanic (thanks again Hez). While struggling to grasp my physics class, I knew almost everyone at the BSU has also suffered through the class and would be willing to help me (thanks again Grant). Every Tuesday, I look forward to worship and fellowship. That space to share our struggles and celebrate our victories was a game changer when under high stress of the school year. Every Thursday, I look forward to… um…beating everybody else in whatever game we play: Coup, Walking Mafia, Hellapagos, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Super Smash Bros, Catan, etc. I have many great memories from dying in Hellapagos from the Mr. Bubbles mafia to breaking the lamp while playing Mafia with the Catholics [from Newman Center]. Although I’ve only spent one year here, which was during Covid, I’m looking forward to the next few years and continue making many memories at the BSU.
